How much does it cost to be a tutor on Parlora?
Nothing. There's no signup fee, no monthly fee, no hidden costs. We only earn when you do — through commission on completed lessons.
What's the commission rate?
13%. You keep 87% of every lesson. By comparison, italki takes 15% and Preply takes 18–33% on a sliding scale. We picked the lowest sustainable rate and we don't move it.
What currency will I be paid in?
Your local currency. Set your rates in the currency you live in, get paid in the currency you live in. We handle the foreign exchange when learners pay in different currencies — you don't see FX fees, you don't get surprised by exchange-rate fluctuations, and you don't need a multi-currency bank account. The amount you set is the amount you receive (less commission).
When do I get paid?
Tutors are typically paid in the first week of each month.
What languages can I teach?
Any language you are able to teach or can speak fluently!
Where are learners based?
Everywhere. Parlora is global, with learners across Australia, Asia, the US, the UK, and Europe.
Can I teach part-time?
Yes. Most of our tutors teach part-time. Set your availability to whatever fits your life. No exclusivity required. Keep all your other platforms and jobs.
